On March 12, 13, and 14, 2014 the Ransom Everglades
Middle School Drama Department proudly presented
Alfred Hitchcock’s The 39 Steps, adapted by Patrick
Barlow. The cast of 26 sixth, seventh, and eighth grade
students rehearsed with student directors Ivy McWilliams ’18
and Ben Rosenthal ’18 for eight weeks. The show had no fixed
background; instead the technical theatre team implemented
creative rolling set pieces and props to transport the audience
across Europe via plane, train, and automobile. The comedy
was a huge success and played to near capacity crowds
each night.
