Ransom Everglades Master Plan –
Miami City Commission Lauds Ransom Everglades
Commitment to Community
A t the Special Area Plan hearing on April 24th, City of Miami Commissioners praised Head of
School Ellen Moceri and Ransom Everglades for the commitment of the school to community
outreach. Commission Marc Sarnoff called Ransom Everglades one of the top ten schools in
the nation, and said RE is an asset to Miami in attracting new residents and business. Commissioner
Keon Hardemon recalled how the exchange program with Northwestern High School, in which he
participated, introduced him to the generous spirit of the Ransom Everglades community.
Plans are underway for the final approval of the Master Plan for the Upper School campus. Rudy Prio-
Touzet ’76 is overseeing the effort, along with fellow trustee of the school and legal counsel, John
Shubin ’79, of Shubin & Bass. Ellen Moceri speaks to the Miami
