i Day at the Middle School was celebrated with a special
assembly, emceed by
Ben Rosenthal ’18, Jacob Tie-Shue
’18
, and
Cale Bulman ’18
, while members of the band
performed the digits of pi, pi-kus haikus about pi were read, jokes
and fun facts about pi were told. It culminated with four students,
Nathaniel Adams ’20, Samson Bienstock ’19, Asher Lieberman ’20
,
and
Jessica Schwartz ’20
, competing in the digits of Pi Recitation
Contest. Each student memorized more than 50 digits of pi, but in
the end it was Nathaniel Adams who recited 117 digits correctly to
be this year’s champion.
Congratulations to all participants!
Additionally, Ms. Yang taught students in her Mandarin classes how
the Chinese play ping-pong.
