I didn’t become as hairy as Coach Pietsch, but I do fight off tears when giving any inspirational speech, frequently rant and march against injustice. Unfortunately, it was two years too late for Coach to see, lost to cancer in December 2023, but his wife, Barbara, shipped me two crates of his old coaching materials, including lots of photos and handwritten pamphlets and results. Reach out to me on REconnect if you’d like me to see if there are pics of you I can put in the mail! I am still a weapon system analyst supporting the Department of Defense in Alexandria, Va. (and at bases all over the country, only eight states to go).” Daniel Finkle writes, “Kids are growing up fast!” McCartney Finkle and Valens Finkle Coach Shelby Highsmith with his athletes
