L-R: Bebe, Jourdan and Lou. Judy Golden Powers writes, “John (my husband) and I are now fully retired. We never had children; thus, no grandchildren. My sister Peggy Heffernan Johnson ’66 who was also an Everglades alumna died suddenly four years ago. As such, I became close to her two sons and their children. We have vacationed with one of the ‘boys’ and his family in North Carolina several times. Also with no children, we spent most of our vacations cruising. We loved it and saw so many places that way. Our favorite still is Alaska (eight times there). Now, we have sold our home and downsized. Our ‘fun’ thing this past year has been getting our adorable Sammi (Pomeranian/Shitzu mix). We are looking forward to attend- ing my high school reunion in Asheville in September. Believe it or not, John is even looking forward to going with me.” Judy and John are pictured below. 1963 REUNION FALL 2022 Class Agents: Darrow Dutcher Hodges (dutch.hodges@gmail.com ), Beverly Brown McCorquodale (flacracker4@att.net ), Thelma Gabler Rohan (tgrohan@gmail.com ), Linda Davies Stubbs (lindastubbs@yahoo.com ) Darrow Dutcher Hodges visited Jourdan Moore Houston ’62 in Colorado in May. Judy Walker McGuirt writes, “Hello from Houston! My home base for 22 years! I’m currently downsizing, packing and purging, for a ‘move’ to MYami Springs with daughter Jamey who retired her wings from the ‘friendly skies’ after the pandemic. “I was thrilled to receive the lovely invitation to the September reunion of Everglades School for Girls founding classes in Asheville and hopeful the tim- ing of the ‘move’ (4-letter word!) allows my attendance. I would love to extend those travels to visit my son and grand- daughters who live in the nearby Atlanta area! Meantime, I look forward to hearing from some of my ‘Everglades girls’! These reunion brochure photos remind me of such pre- cious times and people! Fingers crossed to see you in September!” 1964 Please consider becoming a class agent. 1965 Class Agent: Carol Ann Norton Rogers (carolannrogers@prodigy.net) Gretchen Barnes Annan writes, “So much has happened these last 57 years, it’s difficult to condense the time. I’ve moved a lot, to Panama, Bhutan, Japan, Alaska and all over the U.S., sometimes to support activities in the Baha’i Faith. My husband and I will finally settle in Arizona in September to be close to my twin brother and to get out of the cold in Colorado. My daughter, Greer, is a private chef in NYC, and my son, Galen, is a financial planner in Ontario, Canada. Our two grandchildren, Katherine (age 10) and Logan (age 14), are in Canada. We are looking forward to their visit next month. Ron and I are both retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs and living an active life of biking, hiking and pickleball. My professional career was in many areas of nursing, retiring in administration. I look forward to getting together again with my classmates from Everglades.” Linda Glass Ibsen , see Ned Moore R ’68
