RE Log Spring 2026

50 Ransom Everglades LOG SPRING 2026 Class Notes 2001 REUNION APRIL 2027 Matthew Beatty received a standing ovation after delivering a powerful call to action to the Ransom Everglades upper school students during a special assembly on January 15 in recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Drawing parallels between the school’s mission and the legacy of the late civil rights leader, Beatty challenged students to carve out their futures as ethical leaders and community architects. The Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Carrie Meek Foundation, Matthew used the platform at the Lewis Family Auditorium to reflect on the unique responsibilities of what he described as the “Ransomite” identity. “You will have greater expectations on your life than the vast majority of people in this world, because other people’s lives will depend on your choices,” Matthew told students. “The great late Dr. Martin Luther King ... called you all the ‘drum majors for justice.’” Cameron Sisser writes, “I am excited to begin a new chapter as I relocate to Palm Beach, embracing the opportunities and fresh energy that come with this move. This transition follows 15 deeply meaningful years at Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired, where advancing the mission and serving our blind and low-vision community was an honor of a lifetime. I am grateful for the relationships and impact that will continue to inspire me in this next chapter.” 2002 Nicole Javelly Hanrahan, see Alex Javelly ’04 L-R: Donald Cramp Jr., Teagan Thompson, Tariq Maduro ’26, Rachel Rodriguez, Matthew Beatty, Robert Beatty, David Clark ’86 and Wendell Graham ’74 2003 Jenny Gragg Carson, see Larry Bassuk ’00 and Michael Toccin Allison Freidin, see story on page 13. It was great RE-connecting and celebrating longtime friendships.” Steve Baron shares, “Living in New York. Miami at heart!” Steve Baron and family Danielle Katz Squires, a pediatrician, visited campus as part of the Explorer Externship Lunch & Learn program, presenting a clinical case study for students to examine and discuss. The students in attendance, many of whom expressed an interest in medicine as a potential career path, approached the case with the curiosity and analytical rigor of emerging investigators. Opportunities such as this provide current RE students with valuable exposure to real-world professional experiences and support their early, informed decision-making during the college application process. Annie Stamps is a partner of Scoring Club, a premier private indoor golf club that recently opened in Coral Gables. She and her husband (and Scoring Club founder), Dustin Ridgeway, are excited to reimagine how dedicated golfers practice and play by solving Miami’s lack of accessible, refined clubs. In a recent business spotlight in the RE Alumni Newsletter, Annie also reflects on the importance of community and paying it forward, reflecting, “Be in touch with the RE community — the school can always use your help. Whether near or far, we were all fortunate to have made some of our very dearest friends there and we all certainly benefited from the extraordinary educational experience. Pay it forward, as much as you can.”
