32 Ransom Everglades LOG SPRING 2026 RE drama students took audiences into the woods for three nights of musical adventures, meandering through a host of wellknown fairy tales – and the massive faux trees expertly designed by student crew members – while exploring the theme of “happily ever after.” Student actors in vibrant costumes showed their vocal range and skills at the Lewis Family Auditorium from December 11-13 as RE student and faculty musicians provided the perfectly timed musical score. Spurred into action to escape a curse from witch Morgan Williams ’26, the baker Gustavo Do Valle ’26 and his wife Precocious orphans, ruthless pirates and a fearless girl went on a high-seas, high-stakes journey in Peter and the Starcatcher at Swenson Hall November 12-14. A 25-person middle school cast brought this prequel to Peter Pan to life with skill, spirit and humor. Alexa Forgacs ’31 played Molly, Pace Caplow ’30 played Peter; Chloe Eramil Pierre ’32 and Alyssa Wang ’32 starred as orphans; Izzy Greengrass ’30 shined as Black Stache; and James Harper ’30 excelled as Captain Slank under the direction of RE performing arts teacher Gina Montet. Based on the novel by Dave Barry (RE’s commencement speaker in 2024) and Ridley Pearson, the Tony Award-winning play explains how a no-name orphan boy became Peter Pan through his adventures with Molly, a starcatcher-in-training. Traveling the high seas with Peter and the Starcatcher Upper school drama goes ‘Into the Woods’ Julia Jacir ’27 pursued fairytale characters Isabella Sayfie Ranawat ’26 (Cinderella), Lucas Sanchez ’27 (Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk), Lilah Murphy ’27 (Little Red Riding Hood) and Blythe Sylvetz ’27 (Rapunzel) to a happy ending that spurred a second act. The talented 26-member cast benefited from the excellence of the live orchestra under the direction of Arn Xu. Performing Arts Department Chair Cecilia Gonzalez directed the drama students and Administrative Arts Department Chair Quincy Knowles oversaw the technical aspects and set. REArts
