RE Log Fall 2026

FALL 2026 Ransom Everglades LOG 75 It is with a heavy heart that we commemorate the life of Sean Christopher Posner ’93, who passed away on January 30, 2026. A valued member of the Ransom Everglades and Miami communities, Sean made a tremendous impact on those who knew him. Kelly Posner Gerstenhaber ’85 shared that her brother “was known for his brilliant mind, often referred to as a human calculator, with a renowned reputation as a successful businessman. His reputation preceded him as a person that countless people wanted to partner with, not only because of his brilliant mind and business and financial acumen but because of his character. “Sean attended Ransom Everglades and was one of the top tennis players in the state; he later served as captain of the tennis team at UC Santa Barbara. His reputation as a tennis and padel player reached far and wide, as did his competitive grit. He was a principal at the Posner Group and the founder and managing member of Friendly Trading, a digital assets fund. “A defining piece of his remarkable legacy is the importance he placed on giving back to his community and helping those in need. His philanthropic contributions included Ransom Everglades School, Lehrman Day School, After-School All-Stars and especially the JCC, reflective of his deep commitment to Judaism. “He was an extraordinary and devoted husband and father who lived for his wife, Melissa, and his son, Stevie Posner ’32; he was the ultimate hands-on dad, never missing anything – whether a tennis practice or a math competition. He was an uncle, a nephew, a son, and a brother like no other. He is survived by his siblings, Jarrett Posner ’88 and Kelly Posner Gerstenhaber ’85, sisters-in-law, Pamela Posner ’92, Lorraine Nardone and Kristine Zurawlow, and his nieces and nephews, Alexander, Dylan, Josh, Mikaela, Jordan Posner ’28, Stella Posner ’29, Morgan Posner ’32, Joseph, Alana, Sierra, Christian and Ava. “The meaning of Sean’s life in some ways was beautifully simple – love generously, show up fully, care deeply for those you love. His legacy is immense, difficult to articulate adequately; his imprint elevated this community, and will forever remain. Sean’s humanity and the extraordinary life-changing gift he was to everyone he touched will never be forgotten.” Samuel Thornton Cole, as well as his beloved dogs, Bailey and Bella, and cat, Looney.
