YBC donors have a shared commitment to fostering a lasting legacy while empowering the next generation of leaders. Gifts may be designated to any area. YBC members are included in the 1903 Society and receive related benefits. To join YBC, visit www.ransomeverglades.org/joinYBC Young Benefactor Scholar Donors are members of YBC who specifically commit to RE’s financial aid program to provide an immediate full scholarship for one student, including lunch and related expenses. The Young Benefactor Scholar funds are used within the year that the gift is made, and a minimum commitment of four years is requested in order to provide continuity of support for the student. Families receiving a Young Benefactor Scholarship will be notified that they are the recipient, and donors will receive an annual update documenting the student’s progress during each year of funding. To support a YBC Scholar, visit www.ransomeverglades.org/YBCscholar Ella Rivas-Chacon writes, “I recently had the opportunity to host an externship day for current RE students at I Squared Capital’s Miami headquarters. I Squared is a leading global infrastructure investment manager with over $60 billion in assets under management. Our portfolio spans energy, utilities, digital infrastructure, transport and social infrastructure, and includes more than 100 companies operating across more than 115 countries. In my role at the firm, I lead marketing and communications for OpenInfra, our global wealth platform. “The day offered RE students an overview of our firm and a firsthand introduction to infrastructure investing complemented by insights from our investment and asset management professionals. Students also heard from our co-founder, CIO (and RE parent), Gautam Bhandari P’25 ’28, during a keynote address, before closing out the day with a networking lunch with I Squared employees across various departments and an office tour. One theme we kept returning to: infrastructure is the silent backbone of the economy. It is the power that keeps the lights on, the fiber and data centers behind every download, the water systems, ports and roads that move people and goods. It is ubiquitous, but we all use it without noticing it. Watching students realize how much of daily life runs on assets they had never thought about was one of the best parts of the day.” L-R: Ella RivasChacon with Alicia Medina ’26, Sofia Shore ’28, Dr. Gautum Bhandari P’25 ’28 and Matt Khvorostianyi ’29
