62 Ransom Everglades LOG FALL 2026 Class Notes Congratulations to University of Virginia Head Tennis Coach Andres Pedroso for leading the University of Virginia men’s tennis team to its seventh NCAA championship. Under Andres’ leadership, the Cavaliers claimed the latest title with a thrilling 4-3 victory over Texas. On June 16, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced that Andres was named the ITA/ Dunlop National Coach of the Year. We are incredibly proud to celebrate this remarkable accomplishment and the continued impact of another outstanding RE Raider. Roy Meyeringh reconnected during the Raider REady Orientation in August with his former RE advisor and history teacher Joe Mauro – who is now the advisor and history teacher for Roy’s son, Coco Meyeringh ’33. Talk about full circle! 1998 Charlie Rua, see Lucas Azar ’96 Daniela Eraña-Andrade, see Kevin Escalera ’09 and Michael Toccin ’03 Jaimie Gelman writes, “Thrilled to share I’ve joined The Edit, a boutique real estate brokerage covering South Florida, as an agent. I’ve been back home in Miami for five years now, following more than a decade abroad where I worked on a major redevelopment project in Latin America. After I returned to Miami, I practiced real estate and construction law at an Am Law 100 firm. Now, I’m combining my experience and my enthusiasm to help clients buy, sell and navigate the real estate market across South Florida. I’m excited about this new chapter!” Judge Rodolfo Ruiz recently welcomed RE students Eli Tomassetti ’27 and Ethan Coulter ’27 to a Judicial REview Externship as part of the Ransom Everglades Explorer Externship Program. Throughout the week, the students gained a behind-the-scenes look at the federal judiciary, observing civil and criminal proceedings, reviewing case materials and engaging in thoughtful discussions about the judicial decisionmaking process. Both students praised the experience as an eye-opening opportunity, highlighting the welcoming mentorship of Judge Ruiz and his clerks and the invaluable insight they gained into the day-today workings of the U.S. legal system. Judge Ruiz commended Eli and Ethan for their professionalism, curiosity and thoughtful engagement, and shared that he looks forward to offering the program again next summer. L-R: Eli Tomassetti ’27, Rudy Ruiz and Ethan Coulter ’27 Earlier this year, Ruben Millares and Antonia Wright presented Exile at the Piero Atchugarry Gallery. The two-part exhibition featured a large-scale installation of a Cuban refugee boat salvaged off Key Biscayne in 2022 alongside Desembarco, a standalone sculpture inspired by a makeshift paddle found inside the vessel. An article in the Miami Herald details how Ruben and Antonia acquired the raft and developed their creative concept. http://bit.ly/4wzSOOe Courtesy Piero Atchugarry Gallery Important Alumni Links RE Alumni Webpage: www.ransomeverglades.org/alumni REconnect: www.realumniconnect.org Facebook Page: www.facebook.com/ ransomevergladesalumni Instagram: www.instagram.com/ ransomevergladesalumni LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/groups/59316 Submit Class Notes for Spring 2027 at: bit.ly/RE-class-notes .
