RE Log Fall 2026

48 Ransom Everglades LOG FALL 2026 A Letter from Vicki Carbonell Williamson ’88 Director of Advancement Dear Ransom Everglades Donors, Families and Friends, As I reflect on the 2025-26 school year, my heart is filled with profound gratitude. Your extraordinary generosity sustains and strengthens Ransom Everglades School. Thanks to you, we remain aligned with our mission and our core values. While The RE Way guides all our endeavors, the spirit of Support & Community forms as the cornerstone of what we can accomplish together through our advancement work. It is this unwavering sense of connection that makes RE not just an institution, but a family. This community holds a uniquely personal place in my life. As an alumna, the parent of two young alumni, and a dedicated employee for over 17 years, my ties to Ransom Everglades run deep. I have had the privilege of experiencing this school through almost every lens possible, and through each chapter, I remain deeply thankful to be a part of this community. The bonds forged across generations are enduring; every day, I see firsthand how deeply our community values these shared connections on our campuses. I am honored that I have the opportunity to help bring us together to support my alma mater and its needs. I am pleased to share that we achieved several historic fundraising goals this year: The Fund for RE reached an all-time high of over $6.5 million. In tandem with this success, we maintained healthy support of our two major giving priorities, the Sundheim Humanities Center and the McMahon Faculty Endowment, which supports the cost of living for our full-time faculty members. We also continued engaging with all constituencies and are grateful in particular to the Ransom Everglades Parents’ Association and the alumni board for their incredible outreach and thoughtful programming. For nearly two decades, I have watched RE rise to new heights. As Jim Collins writes in Good to Great, true transformation requires leadership driven not by personal ego, but by a quiet, humble commitment to the institution’s greater purpose. I am proud to work alongside leaders, professional community members and board members who embody this exact spirit. In every decision, our ultimate consideration is, “What is in the best interest of our students?” We are individuals who ensure the school is positioned to thrive and uphold the standards that define RE. Today, Ransom Everglades is firmly poised as one of the top 10 independent schools in the country, and it is easy to see why. Our trajectory is a direct reflection of a community that believes in our mission, invests in our vision, and uplifts one another at every turn. Thank you for your continued trust, your inspiring generosity, and your steadfast commitment to Ransom Everglades. I encourage you to take the time to go through our Report of Giving; if you are a donor, THANK YOU! If you are not yet a donor, please consider supporting RE. We hope this Report of Giving highlights the many ways you can partner with us to make a lasting impact on the lives of our students and at our school. In closing, I would like to thank the many volunteers that made this year so successful, starting with Board Chair Miguel Dueñas ’95, Advancement Chair Kim Mendelson ’85, Advancement Co-Chair Constance Tolevich Fernandez, Head of School Rachel Rodriguez, and Chief Operating Officer David Clark ’86. A tremendous thank you also to my advancement team members for their incredible work. We all look forward to a successful 2026-27 year. With deep appreciation, Vicki Carbonell Williamson ’88 Director of Advancement
