44 Ransom Everglades LOG FALL 2026 Whether arriving from Coconut Grove or flying in from Spain or Australia, alumni returned to Ransom Everglades and gathered April 24-25 for Alumni Weekend 2026. More than 300 alumni from as far back as the Class of 1960 returned with stories and rekindled memories. The weekend’s highlights were many: More than 75 members of the 50 Year Club (Class of 1976 or earlier) attended the annual opening luncheon at Joe’s Stone Crab hosted by Steve Sawitz ’75. The fullthrottle turnout provided a fitting start to a weekend whose opening-night reception at La Brisa drew more than 250 alumni and also attracted faculty, faculty emeriti – Owen Paris, Ginny Onorati and Penny Matthews among them – and former faculty including Jean Connelly and Joel Wallace. The Miller Quad filled up Saturday afternoon with RE’s youngest families – those with children under 5 – who represent the D.R.E.A.M. (Dynamic RE Alumni Minis) team. At the annual Service of Remembrance, RE community members paused to pay respects to 18 members of the Ransom Everglades community who passed away in the past year. The service included special tributes to Elena Ramirez ’88, Chip Cole ’79, Maria del Carmen Naranjo and Sean Posner ’93. Alumni Weekend 2026 Alumni come back to old RE
