A History of Building for the Future 1970s, Everglades School for Girls: Built in the early 1960s, this was the school’s administrative center with the reception area and offices on the first floor and the Gertrude Peirce Library on the second floor. 2008, Everglades Campus: Designed by Laurinda Spear ‘68 of Arquitectonica, a new community center opened on September 4, 2008. It was dedicated as the Ellen Y. Moceri Community Center on March 15, 2014, in honor of the retiring head of school after 13 years of service. 1992, Ransom Everglades School, Everglades Campus: The Hogan building opened in the spring of 1992 as part of an expansion to include a new sixth grade consisting of 66 students in the 1992-93 school year. Until then, the school covered seventh through 12th grades only. 2020, Ransom Campus: the Constance & Miguel Fernandez STEM Center opened in August 2020. The three-story, 45,000-square-foot building houses science, technology, engineerings and math and creates opportunities for indoor/outdoor experiential learning.
