Lauren, a partner at Selendy Gay in New York, discussed her impactful pro bono work, highlighting her case on banned books, including her representation of the book, And Tango Makes Three . She advised the aspiring lawyers in Jenny’s class to pursue law only if they’ve genuinely explored and enjoyed what it means to be in the field, rather than treating it merely as a logical choice. To GSA members, Lauren delivered an empowering message – that they continue standing up for what they believe in and embrace their authentic selves. She noted that the existence of a GSA now signals significant progress, even amidst this moment of social backlash.
