Launched in 2013, the social enterprise empowers communities without access to electricity through a unique approach that combines corporate volunteerism with livelihood generation by assembling hand-built solar lights with materials like bamboo, pottery and recycled plastic bottles. Ami and her team recently celebrated a third Guinness World Record for the world’s largest display of solar-powered lamps. Most recently, Ami signed on as the Managing Director of the Dana Asia Social Business Fund in the Philippines. Modeled after the Grameen social business fund, this is an impact investment vehicle designed to support social businesses across Southeast Asia.
