FALL 2025 Ransom Everglades LOG 65 Pam Golbin writes, “I’m thrilled to share my latest curatorial project: the inaugural exhibition of Fondazione Valentino Garavani e Giancarlo Giammetti in Rome. Set within the newly opened PM23 for Fondazione Valentino Garavani e Giancarlo Giammetti space, Horizons|Red explores the multifaceted conceptual dimensions of red, inviting viewers to engage with its full scope and emotional depth. The exhibit brings together 50 of Valentino Garavani’s most iconic red designs, spanning his five-decade career, alongside 30 exceptional works of modern and contemporary art – many of which are being shown in Rome for the first time. Featured artists include Andy Warhol, Clyfford Still, Cy Twombly, Francis Bacon, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Louise Bourgeois, Gerhard Richter, Helen Frankenthaler, Marlène Dumas, Mark Rothko and Pablo Picasso, as well as leading Italian voices such as Agostino Bonalumi, Alberto Burri, Alighiero Boetti and Lucio Fontana. To those in Rome or visiting soon – I’d love for you to experience the show firsthand.” Joely Kaufman-Janette ’88 and Jeremy Green ’97 have practiced dermatology together for 15 years. The fellow RE alums first met when Joely was an attending physician at the University of Miami Department of Dermatology and Jeremy was her resident. After years in academia, Joely left to join renowned cosmetic dermatologist Dr. Fredric Brandt at his practice in Coral Gables. When Jeremy finished his fellowship in 2011, they hired him to join them. After Dr. Brandt’s untimely passing in 2015, Joely and Jeremy teamed up to create Skin Associates of South Florida with six dermatologists and a nurse practitioner, as well as the Skin Research Institute, which conducts clinical trials in dermatology and aesthetics for companies seeking FDA approval. Said Joely, “There was another level of comfort and familiarity for me when hiring Jeremy, having grown up in the same community. The shared ethics and values instilled in us during our time at Ransom Everglades, of hard work and respect for others, have informed how we navigate our careers and run our practice.” Jeremy agreed, saying, “Our time at RE was such an important foundation. For us, it’s especially gratifying to take care of many in the community, including our classmates, their families, and past and current faculty and administrators. These lasting bonds underscore that Ransom Everglades is such a special place.” Congratulations to Michiel “Monkey” van de Kreeke on being named Director of Maritime Construction for Integra Marinas!
