FALL 2025 Ransom Everglades LOG 61 1982 Jeff Rubin says, “Hard to believe so many years have gone by since we graduated in 1982. Life has gone by fast! Since graduating from UM Law in 1989, my wife, Janice, and I have had two children, Alex and Nicole. Both Alex and Nicole are married. We have been blessed with three grandchildren who have been keeping us very busy in our free time. I have been practicing law in Miami at my own law firm for more than 35 years. I have continued to sail competitively. I have also been actively involved in the Miami community, having served as president of the United States Olympic Sailing Center and the Orange Bowl Committee. This year, I am serving on the College Football Playoff National Championship Host Committee (Miami, 2026). I have remained in contact with Stewart McLeod ’84 and Scott Tornek ’83. Wishing all the best to my ’82 classmates.” Alexander Malinin, see Bill Bailey ’83 1983 Bill Bailey writes, “We are still here in Miami and have no plans to move anytime soon, but with one son in NYC and one in Seattle, we have a lot of traveling before us. We celebrated our 27th anniversary by taking a tour of Italy, exploring Tuscany and the Amalfi Coast. It was a trip of a lifetime. My consulting practice is going well. I have a staff now, which is a milestone for me with my encore career! On July 24, I met two alumni, Catherine Malinin Dunn and Alexander Malinin ’82, at the Beach Club on Key Biscayne, where we all grew up. It was great to visit with them! I was very sorry to have missed our RE Pals ’83 second-quarter lunch, but I plan to be there for the third quarter.
