34 Ransom Everglades LOG FALL 2025 RESports Stellar Scholar Athletes Three student-athletes named to Florida’s academic all-state team Three Ransom Everglades student-athletes – more than from any other school in Florida – were named to Florida’s all-state athletic team in spring 2025. Anna Lavernia ’25, Casey Manno ’25 and Ethan Sullivan ’25 were among 24 students across the state who received $1,700 scholarships and places on the 31st Annual Florida Dairy Farmers Academic All-State Team. Lavernia excelled in soccer, cross country and track and field and also served as an officer for the HealthcaRE Club and RE Spirit Club, and member of the speech and debate team and Health Information Project. Manno competed in water polo, soccer and swimming while also serving as a member of Mu Alpha Theta, vice president of Students Against Gun Violence and a board member for the Health Information Project. Sullivan played four sports – cross country, swimming, water polo and track and field – and contributed as a leader in student government, president of Mu Alpha Theta and as a Project Leader for the Boy Scouts of America. “Anna, Casey and Ethan are exceptional student-athletes who have served as an inspiration to their teammates and classmates, displaying character, leadership, excellence, hard work and resilience on the field and off,” RE Upper School Athletic Director Scott Berman said.“They reflect a culture at Ransom Everglades that encourages students to find joy and balance in their lives with passionate pursuits outside the classroom.
