Kim Duff Selby writes, “ Marian Burnett Danse and I attended a yoga retreat in Portugal in September. The retreat was led by my accomplished yogi daughter and her partner. We had so much fun with the young ’uns, working our bodies every day, reminiscing about our old gymnastic days at Everglades and reinvigorating ourselves. It is so wonderful having lifelong friendships with those we met in high school. Looking forward to our 50th – I can’t believe it – in April. More memories ready to be made.” L-R: Marian Burnett Danse and Kim Duff Selby 1975 Class Ambassador: Katherine Sullivan Lindseth (katelindseth@gmail.com ) Roxi Vadia Morgenstern , see page 10 Jeri Waxenberg Wolfson writes, “After 20 years I have just redone my website for the Jeri L. Wolfson Collection. It turns out one of my paintings, Mabel Alvarez, “Dreams of Youth” was in Mame! The links are at the bottom of the bios. Have fun! www.jlwcollection.com ” Ransom Everglades School 1976 Class Ambassadors: Beth Kaiser (beth33156@yahoo.com ), Debora Turner (djt_jd4sobe@yahoo.com ) James Franklin writes, “After 35 years at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), I retired in 2017 from the National Hurricane Center, where I was the chief of forecast operations. Not long after that, I returned as a contractor, working part-time on software development and applied research. It’s a nice arrangement because it keeps me connected to my colleagues and the science without the stress, and without interfering with my hobbies (mostly my sports teams, gardening and genealogy).” Lou Dessaint and Mimi Ferre at the RE Holiday Party in front of the Maurice R. Ferre ’79 Makerspace in the Fernandez STEM Center. 1977 Please consider becoming a class ambassador. Lisa Shaw stopped by for a visit to the Fuhrman Alumni House and loved seeing photos of the Everglades School for Girls in La Brisa’s East Gallery made possible by the Simkins-Rubell Family. 1978 REUNION APRIL 2024 (with classes of 1979 & 1980) Class Ambassador: Vivian Blount Schile (vbschile@aol.com) Stacie Rubin Smith writes, “I retired after 38 1/2 years from Baptist Health as a Manager at South Miami Hospital Child Development Center. I am now so fortunate to announce that I am joining my mother at ProTravel International, Inc., as a luxury travel advisor. How lucky am I to not only be partnering with someone with 45 years of experience in the travel industry but to also be working side-by-side with my mom.” Michael Wechsler writes, “I hit a career milestone this year when I was invited to the White House where President Biden congratulated the West Coast management association (my group) and the Union Dockworkers for negotiating a six-year labor contract that will help stabilize the supply chain. My teachers at Ransom Everglades (Messieurs Bowden, Bell, Parrish and Kelley) gave me the confidence and instituted the skills needed to negotiate this West Coast Union contract. I’m also fortunate to have two UCLA graduates as of this year, Adley and Arthur, and am celebrating my 30th wedding anniversary with Jennifer. I do miss my RE friends, and I’m looking forward to the upcoming REunion!” Brad Weiser , see page 22 1979 REUNION APRIL 2024 (with classes of 1978 & 1980) Class Ambassadors: Lorraine Dan (grnddesign@gmail.com ), Anthony Rolle (aarolle71@gmail.com ), Natalie Ross (Nathross@aol.com )
