Ryan Bienstock ’24 will play football at Washington University at St. Louis; Emery Diemar ’24 and Violet Martin ’24 will sail at Brown University; Collin Goff ’24 will play baseball and football at Hobart and William Smith Colleges; Antonio de Macedo ’24 will compete in track and field at the University of Chicago; TomMaxwell ’24 will play baseball at Bard College; Gabriela Peña ’24 will play basketball at Oberlin College; David “Chuli” Serra ’24 will run cross country and track at Wake Forest University; Nick Viana ’24 will golf at Denison University; and Steph Wallen ’24 will play volleyball at the California Institute of Technology. Upper School Director of Athletics Scott Berman emceed the event, which included coaches’ remarks for each individual athlete, an opportunity to “sign” a letter of intent, and photos with parents, family and coaches. Dozens of students attended along with Head of School Rachel Rodriguez and COO and Interim Head of the Upper School David E. Clark ’86 . Berman congratulated the athletes for their hard work, talent and dedication. RE will hold another ceremony in late spring to honor student-athletes who make later commitments to college sports. “Your commitment to excellence has not gone unnoticed, and it is inspiring to see your passion for your sport recognized at such a prestigious level,” Berman said. “Your success not only reflects your individual talent but also the support and guidance of your coaches, teammates, family and friends who are with you every step of the way. We have no doubt you will continue to excel both on the field and in the classroom ....
