Ryan and Olivia met at the University of Miami in 2017 and now reside in Washington, D.C. Ryan currently works as a lawyer and Olivia is a scientist. Ryan is the son of Vanessa Greene Steinberg ’87 and brother to Holly Steinberg ’19 . 2017 Class Ambassadors: Michael Colonna (mcolonna101@gmail.com) , Jaret Dan (jaret@danconsulting.com ) John Mistele , see Henry Stavisky ’85 Jake Pelayo and Sebastian Brunet founded All Restaurant Offers, a mobile platform that features restaurant offers, promotions and events on one user feed. ARO is a concept that originated in Jake’s Global Studies and Entrepreneurship class at RE and has been refined countless times since then. After graduation, Sebastian and Jake attended the University of Colorado Boulder and Babson College, respectively. Jake spent his years at Babson revising the idea and beginning his entrepreneurial career by monetizing others before working within Merger & Acquisition Consulting at Deloitte. Meanwhile, Sebastian studied computer science which would eventually lead him into a Machine Learning Operations Engineer role at Dell. Together, they’ve launched the only app that consolidates all restaurant offers and personalizes them to every individual ARO user. And they’ve only just begun! Landon III ’85, In Loving Memory 2018 Class Ambassadors: Erin Bakes ( embakes@gmail.com) , Benjamin Rosenthal (ben@brosenth.al ), Ryan Sears (ryanvsears@gmail.com ) Andrew Lorenzen , a double major in government and performing and media arts at Cornell University’s College of Arts & Sciences, won the 2024 Marshall Scholarship, which provides funds for U.S. students to pursue two years of graduate study at an institution in the United Kingdom. He is one of 51 students chosen for the honor this year. With the scholarship, Lorenzen will pursue a graduate degree in politics and communication at the London School of Economics and a graduate degree in an interdisciplinary program at the University of Edinburgh called “Narrative Futures: Art, Data and Society.” Joshua Williams , founder of the Joshua’s Heart Foundation, was honored by The Boys & Girls Clubs of Hudson County with its “2024 Young Hero Award” for engaging with young people in the work of ending hunger and poverty globally. His message to the young people in attendance, “Live your life with kindness, gratitude and passion, and live courageously.” He is pictured above with Roxi Vadia Morgenstern E ’75 at his award ceremony. Joshua also received the RE’s Founders’ Award for Distinguished Service to the Community at the Class of 2024’s graduation ceremony. Joshua’s work dedicated to the fight against global hunger and poverty demonstrates honor, courage and leadership, fulfilling the vision of the founders of Ransom and Everglades Schools.
