RE LOG Fall 2024
FALL 2024 Ransom Everglades LOG 53 The RE Way leads all that we do at Ransom Everglades School Core Values with Head of School Rachel Rodriguez Building on a tradition of honor and excellence, Ransom Everglades creates opportunities for students to learn and explore the world around them. Our core values – The RE Way – lead all that we do at RE, steering our course and driving our purpose. Joy & Wellbeing Through the houses at the middle school, teams at the upper school, clubs and sports, students are cultivating joyful community and developing valuable skills that promote their wellbeing. Service & Outreach Longstanding traditions, such as Thanksgiving food drives, mangrove cleanups and St. Alban’s Day, show students the importance of putting more into the world than they take from it. Support & Community From alumni gatherings to sporting events to school plays, the RE community shows up. Coming together to build community and support one another makes RE the special place that it is. Diversity & Inclusion Through cultural programming, guest lectures and professional development, Ransom Everglades celebrates both diversity and unity, with the support of faculty, staff and families. Honor & Excellence Students exercise their creativity on the stage and behind the scenes, delivering incredible results and establishing their own unique perspectives. Through athletics, students learn accountability, self-discipline and problem-solving skills. Guided by expert faculty, students uncover their interests and learn by doing. As bridge builders, ethicists and researchers in the humanities, STEM and the arts, our students tackle a vast array of challenges in every subject. One of the most valuable skills students take from their time at Ransom Everglades is how to navigate unfamiliar environments with the support and tools they need to be successful. There is no better example of this skill in practice than the Everglades Experience led by Outward Bound an outdoor education program with a more than 30-year tradition at RE. The RE Way All of these opportunities and experiences are made possible by caring, supportive community members like you. We are grateful to all of our supporters. You are making a difference for the next generation of leaders. Thank you, Rachel Rodriguez Head of School
