The poems are a tribute to my sister, Susan Crapo ’73 , who died in 2008 of breast cancer. They chronicle some of our experiences as kids — including sunbathing on the beach in Miami — her treatment, eventual pass- ing, and the process of grief. Though that may sound like a tough sell, I’ve been told the book has helped others who’ve lost loved ones, which is, increasingly, all of us. Dana Delibovi, writing in the jour- nal, ‘Witty Partition,’ said, ‘It is a book written in the service of love, channeling the spirit of remembrance and homage, with a humility both beautiful and rare.’ The book features artwork of Susan’s, which Delibovi said ‘augment a quality in the book that is absent in much work today: sincerity.’ You can search for and order the book from Small Press Distribution at spdbooks. org . I know many in Susan’s class will remember her as a sensitive and accomplished artist, even then!” Jody Paskow Gold sent us her photo!
