RE Log - Fall 2022

FALL 2022 Ransom Everglades LOG 43 RE community members are all extraordinary in ways big and small. Looking back at the last two years as board chair, I am incredibly proud of the entire Ransom Everglades community for its strength, spirit and camaraderie in the face of some of the school’s – and the world’s –most pressing challenges. Our faculty have guided students and created an atmosphere where they can try new things, take risks and learn from one another. Our families have offered their support and belief in our students’ potential and nudged them when they needed it most. Our alumni have come together to build community and create meaningful change. Most importantly, our students have stepped outside their comfort zones and grown as individuals and a community. When I look at the reach of a Ransom Everglades education, it is both astounding and humbling. After all, thumbing through the pages of any RE Log magazine, I think to myself, “Is every graduate of Ransom Everglades this extraordinary?” And to me, the answer is yes. RE community members are all extraordinary in ways big and small – from our graduates to our current students and families to our faculty and staff. In the way that they treat others, in the questions they ask, in the expectations they set and in the curiosity they express. I believe that these characteristics are what set the RE community apart, and I have had the honor of seeing it close up for the better part of the last decade. RE students and alumni – and the faculty who guide them – are the real deal. I am thrilled to present to you the 2021-22 Report of Giving, which exemplifies the tremendous generosity of our entire community. This report thanks those whose contributions have made a difference in the life of our school and highlights some of the exciting updates from both campuses at Ransom Everglades. On behalf of the Board of Trustees and the entire RE community, thank you! Jeffrey J. Hicks ’84 Chair of the Board, 2020-22
