SPRING 2021 Ransom Everglades LOG 69 2006 Class Agents: Maggie Crosland (maggie.crosland@gmail.com ), Alejandra de la Cruz (ale.delacruz@gmail.com ), Marissa Schwartz Gimelstein (marissalorenschwartz@gmail.com ), Sebastian Gregg (sebastian.gregg@gmail.com) , Cristina Sanchez (cristina.t.sanchez@gmail.com ) Wifi Fernández writes that, after graduating in May with honors from the University of Miami School of Law, he joined the Twitter Public Policy team in September of 2020, just in time to work on the elections. At Twitter, he is focused on federal and state policy, working on con- tent moderation, misinformation, privacy, child sexual exploitation, non-consensual nudity and intellectual property. He has also been selected as an investment scout for Lightspeed Venture Partners, a venture capital firm with offices in Silicon Valley, Israel, China, London and Singapore. Through the scout fund, he’ll be investing in urban tech, climate tech, mobility and underestimated founders. Clyanna Lightbourn (affectionately known as “Kiki” during her time at RE) has been active in the Black Lives Matter movement since 2013, helping to found an official chapter in Albany, N.Y., in that same year. More recently in her role as Statewide Civil Rights organizer, Clyanna has lobbied for historic pre-trial legislation, including the groundbreaking bail reform laws passed in 2019. Shortly after the footage of George Floyd’s murder was released, Clyanna helped organize a Black Lives Matter march in Albany that amassed a turnout of over 3,000 people. Clyanna also traveled to Rochester, N.Y., to provide guidance and lead protests and demonstra- tions following the murder of Daniel Prude, a Black man experiencing a mental health crisis who was met with police and sub- sequently died in their custody. Following these demonstrations, Clyanna has been a vocal contribu- tor to legislation being created to limit law enforcement interven- tion for mental health crises in New York State. During the pandemic, Clyanna has also created mutual aid and direct giving programs, fund- raising and donating over $200,000 in aid for directly impacted families struggling to pay their bills. Recently, Clyanna transitioned to the New York State Senate, where she serves as the Upstate Regional Director for External Relations working closely to support freshman senators through press communica- tions and community outreach. Clyanna continues to educate around prison abolition, human rights and allyship with lectures and presentations around New York State. Ale de la Cruz writes, “Thank you all for the cutest outfits! I hope I can show my girls around the new campus some time soon :).” Her daughters, Victoria and Anabelle, were photographed in September in their RE swag. Bryan Wilner currently lives in Cleveland with his wife, Jordyn, and their son, Levi. He will be completing his general cardiology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic this summer and then will be starting his two-year electrophysiology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. 2007 Class Agents: Danielle Calleja ( decalleja@gmail.com) , Jacques Holzmann (jacquesholzmann@gmail. com), Rebecca Noble (rebnoble11@ gmail.com ), Stephanie Peral ( stephanie.peral@gmail.com) Bryan Baum moved back to Miami in January 2020 from Los Angeles and is looking forward to connecting with old friends in a post-COVID-19 world. Alessandra Calderin writes, “I got COVID and married in late 2020. We were planning on having a small family ceremony in December but cancelled it because of the COVID-19 spike. Regardless, we dressed up and had some fun after making it legal in November.”
