RE Log - Fall 2021

FALL 2021 Ransom Everglades LOG 69 Jane Dolkart, Kitty Proenza and Marian Turk took part in Virtual Alumni Day as the esteemed and respected judges of the very first Alumni Poetry Competition. It meant so much to the participants for this trio to review the incredible poems sent in by alumni. Each one selected a poem to read to our audience and, thanks to Zoom, we got to experience them “live.” Jane, Kitty and Marian joined Associate Head of School Dr. John A. King, Jr., and Dan Leslie Bowden’s grandnephew Thomas Bowden, who joined from Columbus, Ga. They read poems by Kit Pancoast Nagamura ’77, Karina Rudra ’20 and Sally Nims Seaman ’70 Everglades. Ann Goesel celebrated her 95th birthday in August. Ann continues to enjoy life in the Palace in Kendall. She stays in regular communication with many of her colleagues from Ransom Everglades. On occasion she makes her way over to the west coast of Florida to be with family. Christel Marin and Jerry Exum contin- ue to ballroom dance and, despite the pandemic, their dance showcases have not stopped. Like many, they have spent this past year close to home in Miami. A visit from Joe Exum ’80 to Miami was a recent highlight.
