You will soon hear about SkateBird. And hopefully you will all want to come check it out.” Ashley Zohn has been promoted to vice president of Learning & Impact at the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. Ashley will lead the foundation’s work in research and assess- ment of impact. She joined the Knight Foundation in January 2019 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Ashley has more than a decade of experience advancing data-driven decision-making in the non- profit, public and private sectors. Knight’s research program includes partner- ships with Gallup, Inc., and Pew Research on major surveys of public attitudes toward media, the First Amendment and technology, as well as assessments that evaluate the impact of the foundation’s investments in community, journalism and the arts. Katie Buchanan Reynolds writes, “On May 10, Thomasin Violet Reynolds came into the world. Born at 8:17 a.m. in Madison, Wis., weighing 8 lbs., 2 oz., and 20.5 inches long. We are calling her Tomi. Parents Katie and Britt Reynolds, and big brother Cooper (age 3) and dog Buoy couldn’t be happier. Grandparents Leslie Wakefield Buchanan ’72 and Joe Buchanan (RE trustee 1996-2009) are excited as well. Tomi was named after seven Toms in our family, three of them being Tom Wakefield (RE trustee 1971- 1980/board chair 1974-1976), Tom Wakefield Jr. ’74 and Tom Buchanan ’03 . Jeff Howard writes, “I left my job doing corporate human resources with Whole Foods Market and am back in school working on a master’s in nutrition. I’m planning to change careers and become a registered dietitian nutritionist. We are facing a massive burden of chronic disease, and nutrition is a key lifestyle factor causing our decline in health. I want to be a part of a healthcare solution that also has important implications for climate change, social equality, pandemic prevention and animal welfare.”
