42 Ransom Everglades LOG FALL 2021 Campaign Timeline Spring 2014: City of Miami approves plan for the construction of a STEM center on the upper school campus July 2014: New Head of School Penny Townsend arrives, sets to work on strategic plan Spring 2015: Board of Trustees approves Penny’s strategic plan with five initiatives: enriching the curriculum; building the best faculty; integrating technology creatively; upgrading buildings, facilities and spaces; and developing RE as an institution Summer 2015: Ransom Everglades begins the quiet phase of its largest ever fundraising campaign, later known as REinventing Excellence June 2016: Board of Trustees votes to purchase La Brisa property Fall 2016: Ransom Everglades submits a new upper school master plan to the City of Miami that includes the incorporation of the new La Brisa land June 2017: RE announces inaugural class of Bowden fellows, honoring the six- decade career of Dan Leslie Bowden October 17, 2017: RE publicly launches its $75 million fundraising campaign REinventing Excellence with a community kickoff and lecture by Sir Ken Robinson
