Lisa met her husband, Ed, at Stanford University. Ed went on to play 13 NFL seasons for the Giants, 49ers and Broncos. They have four football- playing sons, all of whom won state championships at Valor Christian High in Highlands, Colo., and contin- ued to play in college. The oldest son, Max McCaffrey, played college football at Duke. Drafted by the Oakland Raiders, he had stints as a wide re- ceiver with five NFL teams. Christian McCaffrey rushed for more than 1,000 yards in each of the last two seasons with the Carolina Panthers; he was a first-round draft choice out of Stanford who finished second in the ballot- ing for the Heisman Trophy in 2015. Dylan McCaffrey will enter his senior season in the fall as a quarterback at the University of Michigan. Luke McCaffrey, the youngest son, commit- ted to play quarterback at Nebraska starting next fall. As a student at RE, Lisa set records in track, lettered four times in tennis and scored 56 goals during her high school soccer career. She had two strong years playing soc- cer at Stanford, before ruptured discs in her back ended her playing career.
