RE Log - Spring 2020

SPRING 2020 Ransom Everglades LOG 45 Class Notes Ransom School 1953 Please consider becoming a class agent. Bob Pendleton writes, “Elsa and I settled in Pasadena, Calif., nearly two years ago, after being on the road in a pickup truck since retirement in 2000. Now we’re elderly activists – League of Women Voters, American Association of University Women, Friends of the Pasadena Public Library, American Civil Liberties Union, etc. We attend and lead meetings, and hope that everybody that’s eligible registers and votes in all elec- tions! Not many Ransom School grads in California, I guess. I enjoy reading about the modern RE, but it’s not at all like liv- ing in the Pagoda and having a graduat- ing class of five, all boys! You should be proud of the good work you’re doing.” 1961 Class Agents: Charles Sands (sandsvest@bellsouth.net ), Edward Seward (etseward1@gmail.com ) Jon Maksik writes, “Leslie and I are about to be grandparents. Alexander and his wife, Madhuri Vijay, are expecting a daughter at the end of October. Madhuri is also a writer and her first novel, The Far Field , has received a lot of national and international attention and has been nominated for several literary prizes. Xander is working on his fourth novel.” Ted Seward writes, “My daughter worked in L.A. until this spring, and last November we visited her there, and I made a point to lunch with Bruce Weitz ’62 and Chris Hyatt who both live in the L.A. area. We had a good time re- membering old happenings at Ransom. We seem to remember them differently, but, in general, we agreed an event oc- curred. Also, my son and my wife have connections in Chicago and the last few times when visiting there, I made a point to connect with Jeff Renkert ’60 . I learned so much more about Jeff, Bruce and Chris than I had ever known about them when at Ransom — a real eye opener. 1962 Class Agents: James Beverley ( jamescbeverley@bellsouth.net) , Arthur Smith ( macuquina@me.com ) James Beverley , see Michiel “Monkey” van de Kreeke ’88 1963 Please consider becoming a class agent. 1964 Class Agent: Lawrence Reeder ( larry@howardsreederinc.com) 1965 Class Agents: James Hobbs ( jchobbs3@bellsouth.net) , Kurt Kunzel (kkunzel5@gmail.com ), Joseph Sanders (sandersmarketing@ mindspring.com) 1966 Please consider becoming a class agent.
