PennyMatthew� There isn’t anything more powerful in a school than the relationships between the teachers and their students. Nothing can surpass the intersection of passionate, principled and fully present teachers and motivated, engaged and fully present students. When those two come together, when both sides are at their best or almost best, the magic begins. At the end of this academic year, two of those fully present teachers will retire: Penny Matthews and Guillermo Urbina. For 32 and 28 years, respectively, Penny and Guillermo have forged deep and meaningful relationships with hundreds of Ransom Everglades students. Those relationships have inspired, challenged, cajoled and encouraged and have made learning the joyful and lifelong pursuit that we all hope it will be.
