The New York Times recently published her piece, “We Will Pay for Our Summer Vacations With Winter Lockdowns (Opinion).” This past spring, she was referenced by the Daily Planet in the following headline, “Leading UK professor warned of coronavirus type outbreak two years ago — and now blasts government for lack of ‘decisive action’ while praising China’s ‘ambitious’ containment of bug.” Devi predicted an animal virus from China would spread to humans two years ago, then the virus would spread by plane to the UK. Lisa Stroh Libbey welcomed her family’s second daughter, Madeline (“Minnie”) Jane Libbey on April 17, 2020. Moretz Sosinski ’93 Tom Buchanan and his wife Sarah are the proud parents of Ethan (2) and new baby Colin born on March 26 in New York City. Sarah delivered safely in NYC during the COVID-19 pandemic. Everyone is safe and sound at home. Leslie Wakefield Buchanan ’72 is once again a very proud grandmother. Matthew Cummock was working a minimum 12-hour hospital rotation in an ICU filled with COVID-19 patients. He spent time in lockdown at Rutgers Hospital system in New Jersey, which had hundreds of sick patients. Luke Samson , an anesthesiologist for South Miami Hospital, volunteered with Dream Defenders to assist with their outreach to the homeless community in downtown Miami during the pandemic. Luke, along with a few dozen volunteers, took to the streets to pass out tents, food, drink, sanitary supplies, masks and clothing to individuals in need. He and fellow medical volunteers administered COVID-19 nasal swab tests on those in the vulnerable homeless community that wanted to be tested. Danielle Katz Squires , a physician, au- thored this article in the Miami Herald : “Today as in 1918, pandemics have physicians baffled.” Jonathan Truppman , as General Counsel of Casper, helped take the sleep- brand public on the NYSE in February. On March 14, Jonathan married Tile Allemann at Villa Mara in Mammee Bay, Jamaica, cocooning in a final bubble of paradise as the chaos of COVID-19 drastically disrupted the wider world. The couple never returned to NYC, but after spending the first three months of marriage living with Jonathan’s parents in Pinecrest, they decided to move back to Miami permanently — in their own home.
