FALL 2020 Ransom Everglades LOG 59 Shelby Highsmith writes, “In April, I was promoted to Project Leader for Mobility Aircraft in the Operational Evaluation Division of the Institute for Defense Analyses, where I’ve been since 2009. We provide technical plan- ning, support and data analysis to the Pentagon for operational testing of major weapon system programs, and I now lead the team that covers the ‘etcetera’ portfolio of aircraft that aren’t fighter jets, bombers, or drones. Ghislaine is an energy litigator who brings a public health perspective to the industry. Tara Narula Cangello has been named senior medical correspondent for CBS News, based in New York. Tara contin- ues to report for all CBS News broad- casts and platforms, including CBS This Morning, the CBS Evening News with Norah O’Donnell, CBS Sunday Morning and CBSN, the 24/7 digital streaming news service. Tara had been an integral contributor to CBS This Morning , where she frequently reported on the latest health trends, cardiovascular disease and general health and wellness tips. More recently, she has been instrumental in providing vital information and answer- ing viewer questions on the COVID-19 pandemic and the latest medical develop- ments. Tara is a board-certified cardiolo- gist at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan and an assistant professor of cardiovas- cular medicine at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. She also serves as the associate director of the Women’s Cardiovascular Disease Center at Lenox Hill Hospital. She is a recipi- ent of the 2019 WomenHeart Nanette Wenger Award for Media. Jessica Greenwald Ladin and her husband welcomed Maya Pearl Ladin to their family on March 10, 2020. Maya’s big brother Rocco joins in the excitement! Andres Mendoza , see Adam Amdur ’92 Michaele Moretz Sosinski writes, “My husband, Ben, and I have been settled in the Kansas City area now for six years with our two boys, Joe (7) and Cole (5). We love this hidden gem of a city with all it has to offer in terms of culture, food, music, etc. (when there is not a pandemic, of course). In the last couple of years, my mother also moved here from Miami after 50+ years living in the Grove/Gables area! We love having grandma nearby. And speaking of people nearby … in a crazy coincidence, we have an RE alum right across the street from us! Hannah Bittel ’03 and her husband are our neighbors, so we’ve been enjoy- ing connecting over our shared histories in Miami/RE. In other news, I launched an interior design business — Studio Sosinski Interiors — and have been loving having a creative outlet. There are so many RE alumni who are entrepre- neurs … and I have to think that part of the reason is the time we spent at RE and the foundation that the school gave us to move forward with confidence in our own businesses!
