David Scharlin , see Class of 2020 Paul Zuccarini , see Adam Amdur ’92 1981 REUNION YEAR Class Agent: Lisa Landy (llandy420@gmail.com) “Hello Class of ’81. I hope everyone is managing during these extraordinary and turbulent times. Every one of us has been affected by the events of this year in some way, and I wish you all health and sanity. We have a reunion with a zero at the end of the number coming up next year! I will let you all do the math. It’s rather a large number so please consider saving the weekend of April 23-24 of 2021 to celebrate together. We will be using REconnect to communicate about the reunion. Please visit www.realumniconnect.org to register. Once you’ve registered, you will see a tab for the Class of ’81 under Groups to join for notifications. I would also appreciate hearing from you to develop a consen- sus as to whether you would prefer to celebrate on campus or off-site. All input is welcome. This is it for now. I wish everyone the best and look forward to seeing you in April of 2021.” — Lisa Andy Ansin, see Edmund Ansin, In Loving Memory Susan Lilly writes, “We usually gather for birthdays, holidays, occasional week- ends. My family members have odd schedules. I am a nurse, and one of my sons is a pilot, so we often have to find days other than actual holidays to gather. It has been hard now though, not to have my sons over at all, and being a nurse, I worry about bringing COVID-19 home to my husband. We are adapting and making the best of it. I work with really great medical professionals. We work in community health, and serve the most vulnerable population in Western North Carolina. My escape is hiking in our beautiful mountains. They are soothing to the soul. The photos are of the Appalachian Trail and Shining Rock Wilderness, Western North Carolina.” 1982 Class Agents: Dave Bricker ( dave@davebricker.com ), Greg Glass ( greg@gregoryglass.com ), Jennifer Keedy (jenwired@gmail.com ), Renu Mody (Miamieye@aol.com ) Dave Bricker has a new book out on virtual presentation skills called Speak Inside the Box: On-screen Presentation Tips for Speakers, Trainers, and Leaders. Ransom Everglades was one of seven schools that participated. Karla Gottlieb writes, “Hello! I just moved to Stuart — any REers up here in the Treasure Coast? It’s lovely here, with a pond in our backyard and bun- nies, alligators, sandhill cranes, otters, gopher tortoises, etc. Great beaches. I’m still keeping a place on Miami Beach and working during the week (before apocalyptic pandemic) at a non-profit in Opa-locka. Would love to connect to any- one Class of 1984 or any other year — especially if you’re in the Treasure Coast! I saw Adelheid Doebler from our class a few years ago — she lives in Ecuador now — and Callie Flipse for her 50th birthday. So many good memories!” Quentin Nason writes, “We are pleased to announce the launch of the Financial Literacy for Children program in partner- ship with the London Stock Exchange. This is a very good opportunity for parents homeschooling their children to teach them the basics of personal finance using our free short videos or our textbook (which was sent to every primary school in the UK, all 21,000, for free). We appreciate all the support we have received from the Angus Lawson Memorial Trust in making this textbook a reality. At City Pay it Forward, our objective is to make an impact in our community, one student at a time. Please share and help broaden the impact of our work.”
