Former In Loving Faculty Memory Victor Barothy ’71 died unexpectedly on Jan. 11, 2019, in suburban Washington, D.C. Raised in Cuba. Belize and Miami, Victor lived a young boy’s dream of fish- ing, boating and exploring. He attended Ransom where he met his lifelong friends and his wife, Sarah Miller ’72 , who at- tended the Everglades School for Girls. After college in California he spent 18 years as a boat captain in Belize leading scuba and light-tackle fishing charters in his 36-foot Grand Banks “The Lucretia B.” Victor moved to the D.C. area with his wife in 1993 and worked as a project manager for new store development for various corporations. He was recently retired and turned his eye toward fishing in the mid-Atlantic region. Victor leaves behind his wife; three daughters from a previous marriage, Elizabeth, Rebecca and Melanie; five grandchildren; and his friends and family who loved his generous spirit, humor and habanero pepper sauce. Cherry Krech Fulcher ’76 passed away on Sept. 9, 2018. Cherry was the sister of Lili Krech Neale ’69 (Everglades) and Carol Darling Krech ’74 and the aunt of Giles Grady Neale ’98 . Cherry Krech Fulcher was the daughter of the late M. Chapin “Hafey” Krech, who was the assistant headmaster and math- ematics teacher at Ransom School from 1958-63 and the assistant principal and mathematics teacher at Everglades School for Girls from 1965-69. Keith Ducoffe ’69 passed away on July 14, 2017.
