FALL 2019 Ransom Everglades LOG 7 Phil Lord ’93 made his way to the stage at the 91st Academy Awards, wading through Hollywood’s most celebrated stars, trying to maintain his composure and poise. A presenter handed him an Oscar – his first after more than a decade in filmmaking – as he stepped to the microphone with his longtime creative partner, Christopher Miller. He and Miller shared the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature for their inclusive take on the famous Marvel comic, which featured an Afro-Puerto Rican teen as Spider-Man.
