Her “crazy idea,” as she described it dur- ing her address at the Lewis Family Auditorium April 25, led to a $100 mil- lion project for a 120-acre linear park, 10-mile urban trail and a public park and arts destination, whose first stage, the Brickell Backyard, is scheduled to open June 2020. Flashbacks of the 1970s took the class down memory lane. Due to the incredible outreach of the 1979 Reunion Committee, the Class of 1979 had over one third of its class in attendance.
