Contact them at the addresses above to get involved. 1969 Class Agents: Lili Krech Neale (liliandy@bellsouth.net ) Lili Krech Neale helped gather 14 members of the Everglades Class of 1969 for their 50-year reunion on the Everglades Campus during Alumni Weekend. Writes Lili: “Thank you so very much to the Everglades Class of 1969 for attending our 50-year reunion on April 12-13, 2019. We had a fabu- lous turnout of: Margot Ammidown, Candy Shedden Donnelly, Mary Beth Norton Durant, Susan Fleming, Ines Garin, Linda Lee Howell, December Duke McSherry, Jan Salvesen Morrison, Lili Krech Neale, Emily Isberg Reardon, Calli Cerami Ricketson, Janice Moore Topping, Brent Baraket Thomson and Valerie Pistole Walter . Classmates arrived from all over the country, and Calli Cerami Ricketson came all the way from Australia! We also really missed those classmates who couldn’t be here with us. We remembered those class- mates who have passed away: Cynthia Christina Sottile, Sally Matheson, Shelly Lavigne Rifkin and Elizabeth Shoemaker. We enjoyed having alumni from other class years at the Everglades lunch, including: Beverly Horne Dommerich ’68, Mary Lindsley Taylor ’70, Karen Peterson Throckmorton ’72 and Gail Beckham ’70 . We were also honored by the presence of former faculty: Jerry Exum, Ann Goesel, Barbara Lester and Christel Marin. I would like to give a special thank you to our classmate Jan Salvesen Morrison for her encour- agement in getting classmates to our 50-year reunion and also encouraging alumni from other class years to attend the festivities. Also, Jan, thank you for hosting classmates and for contributing photos for our slide show. We enjoyed a fun and delicious luncheon on the Everglades Campus, followed by the Alumni Reception and Buffet Dinner at the Quad on the Ransom Campus on a wonderful spring evening in South Florida. We also had a beauti- ful Biscayne Bay boat tour with Bruce Matheson, who is the brother of our late classmate, Sally Matheson . We were very grateful that Bruce and his friend, Denise Kleimeck, could attend our Joint Class of 1969 Reunion Dinner at Biscayne Bay Yacht Club, along with some of our classmates’ husbands, Mike Donnelly, Paul Passantino, Andy Neale ’69 , and Marc Reardon. We also enjoyed the company of the Ransom Class of 1969 alumni Eric Buermann ’69, Linda Rogers Buermann ’72, Wilson ‘Kai’ Jelstrom ’69 and his wife Anna Jelstrom, and Bill Becker ’69 and his wife Sherri Becker. During the weekend, we all signed a Happy 100th Birthday card to our former English teacher, Mrs. Eleanor Eckel Bachman, and we received a beautiful letter of “Heartfelt Thanks” from Mrs. Eckel’s son, Larry Eckel. Fifty years ago, our class dedicated the yearbook, Excelon 1969 , to Eleanor R. Eckel. We received and read warm emails of congratulations to our Class of 1969 from other alumni, Liz Cowen ’67 and Kaki Swenson Kahan ’61 . Throughout the weekend we also had fun, enjoying singing the song: Smile, Pep, You Can Tell An Everglades Girl By Charm, Style, Boys Around Her All The While Smile, Pep, Charm, Style That’s What She Has And Best Of All You’ll Love Her Laugh Ho, Ho, Ho Our Everglades Class of 1969 really appreciated the visits at our reunion events from Penny Townsend, Head of School, and we are very grateful for her strong support of the alumni and of the valuable history of our school. Many thanks again to all of you for making this past weekend a very special gathering of dear friends, and many thanks to Vicki Carbonell Williamson ’88 and the staff in the advancement department for all their valuable help in making Alumni Weekend 2019 such a great success!
