Malena began her tenure on July ɺ DQG ZLOO OHDG WKH 0DULQHUV LQ WKHLU ¿UVW NCAA Division III season. “I’m very excited to be joining the Maine Maritime community and particularly to be sign- LQJ RQ DV WKH ¿UVW HYHU KHDG FRDFK IRU Mariners Swimming, “Malena said in a news release from the school. “It will be an honor to work with our student-athletes DQG P\ IHOORZ DWKOHWLFV VWDɣ DQG , KRSH to build a solid and successful program that the academy can be proud of.” Most recently, Malena spent three seasons as the Assistant Swimming Coach at Colby College where she also served as the team’s Strength and Conditioning Coach in 2016-17. “Malena is a strong leader with a clear vision for Maine Maritime swimming that aligns perfectly with my vision for our newest program,” Director of Athletics Steve Peed said. “She is highly intelligent, incredibly thought- ful, and well-versed in her sport. I truly believe we have caught a rising star in the profession.” Malena worked previously as the Assistant Swim Coach at Amherst Regional High School. Alex Lopez De Leo writes, “ Ned De Leo ’10 and I were married on June 2 and we JUDGXDWHG IURP 8) PHG VFKRRO D FRXSOH RI ZHHNV ODWHU :H ZLOO EH VWD\LQJ DW 8) for residency; Ned matched in Internal Medicine and I in Radiation Oncology. We were married in Miami at Thalatta Estate and were fortunate to have some fellow graduates of the RE Class of 2010 in our wedding party, including Matt Pataro (best man), Franklin Morgan , Julian Helguero-Kelley and Adrian Díaz- Granados . My brother Jack Lopez ’12 was my man of honor, and Ned’s brother Chris De Leo ’13 was a groomsman. Ilana Shulevitz and Alex Haubold , former RE classmates, are excited to be married in Beacon, N.Y., this fall. Alex and Ilana met during middle school at Ransom Everglades, and were close friends in high school. They began dating long-distance during college – Alex went to Washington 8QLYHUVLW\ LQ 6W /RXLV DQG ,ODQD WR WKH 8QLYHUVLW\ RI 0DU\ODQG )RU WKH SDVW few years, they have lived together in Brooklyn. Alex works for the branding and FRPPXQLFDWLRQV ¿UP 6\VWHP ɲ 5HVHDUFK and Ilana has just taken a position at the Council on Foreign Relations after four years of making documentaries for the series VICE on HBO. Bryan Wilner graduated from Tufts 8QLYHUVLW\ ZLWK D %6 LQ ELRORJ\ DQG DOVR was captain of the men’s varsity tennis team. He completed medical school at WKH 8QLYHUVLW\ RI 0LDPL 0LOOHU 6FKRRO RI 0HGLFLQH LQ ɳɱɲɶ +H ¿QLVKHG KLV LQWHUQDO PHGLFLQH UHVLGHQF\ DW 8QLYHUVLW\ RI 7H[DV Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas in June. He got married during his second year of residency to Jordyn Wilner at Temple Beth Am in Miami. They moved to Cleveland this summer where he started his cardiology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic.
