As I executed my daily commute through Coconut Grove and Coral Gables, I was moved by the urban energy and nightlife, and I developed a vision: I saw our musicians ¿OOLQJ WKH QLJKW DLU ZLWK WKH VRXQGV RI WUDGLWLRQDO MD]] DGGLQJ WR WKH YLEUDQF\ RI WKH HYH- ning and bringing joy to gathering listeners. I saw that vision come to fruition as a group RE jazz musicians performed to an exuberant crowd the evening of August 18 at Books and Books in Coral Gables. The wonderful thing about this performance was its total organic nature; it came to pass without any input from me. It was predicated on the love of the jazz art form that our young artists develop and share.
