80 Ransom Everglades LOG FALL 2017 Julian Palmer was a social media intern at Democracy for America. Alec Rodriguez was a civil engineering intern at CH2M. Francisco Tomasino was a wealth management intern for Morgan Stanley this past summer in Chicago. Gabriela Ulloa interned for Oscar de la Renta in international sales. Andrea Wenrich spent this past spring studying in Florence, Italy, and returned to the states for the summer to intern at Boston Consulting Group in New York City. 2015 Carolina Garrett , a redshirt freshman at Indiana University, was one of 14 sportsmanship award honorees in the Big Ten for women’s golf in 2016-17. The students chosen were individuals who distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior, and were in good academic standing and had demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting. Cole McWilliams writes, “I just finished an eight-week internship at UBS in their international wealth management division. Henry Ehlebracht was an intern for UBS in the downtown office.” Dylan Denman, Robert Shellow and Chloe Suridis all interned at Goldman Sachs this past summer. Camille Dulin worked for American Airlines in the data analytics department. Dave Mendelson spent part of his summer in New York City working on physics research at Columbia University. Lucas Rodriguez co-wrote the cover story and Erica Scott ’16 contributed a story to the May 2017 issue of Stanford Politics. Rodriguez’s piece, “State of Disunion,” explored the unprecedented levels of polarization in American politics, and Scott’s story, “A Class Divided,” offered a thoughtful examination of the divide in the U.S. working class. The two RE grads are staff writers for the campus publication. http://bit.ly/2sIj5Np Alex Swerdlow writes: “I am going into my third year at the University of Chicago, and I wanted to share some information about a company I recently launched here in Chicago. Gather is a non-partisan mobile application for civic organizing. Our mission is to provide activists representing diverse issue groups from across the political spectrum with a platform to organize and participate in civic engagements and access other activists supporting shared causes. We recently launched our website ( gatheractivism.com ) and opened up pre- registration to the public. We expect to be available for download by the fall. We placed third in the University 2016 Will Glass interned as an engineer for TUUCI, The Ultimate Umbrella Company, Inc, in Miami this summer. The following 2017 Class Agents were officially introduced to the alumni guests: Debbie Ajagbe, Michael Colonna, Franklin Civantos, Jaret Dan, Joon Kim, Gigi Parra, Alex Sidi, Harry Tandy, Mya Wright, Laura Zaidenberg . of Chicago’s College New Venture Challenge and subsequently received start-up capital from the school to launch the venture.
