RE Log Fall 2016

FALL 2016 Ransom Everglades LOG 53 Eliza (Srebnick) Weber reports: “I’m still living in N.Y.C. with my husband Jon and three beautiful kids. I see Bonnie (Brooks) Jonas ’87 often and we just went to our 25th reunion at Penn. I also had a great time visiting Jon Haft ’87 in Ann Arbor, Mich., this spring. If you are in N.Y, drop me a line at elizasweber@gmail.com. Looking forward to seeing everyone at our 30th reunion next year.” Eugene Williams writes, “I still can’t believe it’s been 30 years since I gradu- ated from RE. I am a high school assis- tant principal in central Virginia. I will celebrate my 20th wedding anniversary in October. I have one child and she will be attending college in the fall.” 1988 David Evans writes, “Kate and I had our second child, Heath James Evans, in October of last year. He is doing great. His big sister Oona, now three, is really enjoy- ing having a little brother. We just had our first stint navigating preschool applica- tions in San Francisco for Oona. That was a trip. I’d love to commiserate with other Ransom Everglades alumni in the Bay Area about what that process can be like.” Andrea Pullen Herzer writes, “The year 2016 has brought a lot of challenges my way, and I am grateful that my husband Mark and our three ‘children’ (ages 14, 20, 21) were by my side through it all. After going through having my daughter Sarah move into the dorm at UT (Hook ‘em!) this fall, I thought dealing with a (partly!) empty nest was my biggest challenge. But on Christmas night I discovered a lump in my neck, and 2016 began with multiple surgeries and a diagnosis of both Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma stage 3 and Follicular Lymphoma stage 4. After many hospitalizations and chemo, I am now in complete remission! I’m continuing to have IV infusions for a year and a half, though, and hope to remain cancer-free at my two-year mark. I began writing about it at my CaringBridge site and have heard from many Miami friends through this and Facebook. It has been such a blessing to hear from everyone! Rob Koreman writes “Everything is great with me and my family. Our daugh- ter Samantha is headed off to Dartmouth College this fall which means we are going to be empty nesters ... Strange concept but nice nonetheless. My wife, Lynne, is the CMO of a start up in Washington D.C. that specializes in cyber-security educa- tion. I am still flying for American Airlines out of Miami and enjoying the seniority that I have on the A320.” Michiel “Monkey” van de Kreeke is currently working as senior project man- ager for Bermello, Ajamil and partners in Coconut Grove, heading the development of a private island in the Bahamas for MSC Cruises. He’s also enjoying riding his bike ride to work, and sailing with his three kids: Sebastian, eight, Hans, six, and Colette, two. As a member of the RE alumni board and past chair of the RE alumni annual fund, he wants to thank all RE alums for their continued support of the school. Jarrett Posner and his wife, Pamela Posner ’92, in August opened their first hotel, the Halcyon in Cherry Creek, Colo. The Posners work in real estate and reside in New York City. They are the parents of Jordan, Stella and Morgan. Vicki Carbonell Williamson was appointed to the CASE Commission on Alumni Relations. 1989 Sharon Halstead Coleman cor- responds with faculty emeritus Jackie Collaso. In a recent communication, she shared that she is the author of a new book, Only What You Need, A Memoir. The book is available on Amazon. Vinnie Falco married Natalie Robbins in 2014 and is currently living in Miami Beach. He published “Beast” in 2016. 1990 Carlos Dominguez writes, “I’m thrilled to announce that my business partner David Savir and I recently launched Element Pointe Advisors, an indepen- dent SEC registered investment adviser. Element Pointe serves as both a multi- family office and a boutique wealth man- agement firm.” 1991 Chris Auxier and Andrea Auxier ’92 returned to Miami with son Riley, 12, and daughter Milena, 11, in August 2016. Chris accepted the position of COO with Miami-based real estate firm Fifteen Group, located in Midtown. Andrea will remain in her position as Vice President of Business Development for New Directions, a behavioral health plan company based in Kansas City, which allows her to work from home. Given the suddenness of the move, they will be rent- ing a house on Key Biscayne for a year or two before finding a permanent address. Although very sad to leave Colorado, Chris and Andrea are excited to return home to Miami and reconnect with old friends. Kevin Hochman was named the second- most influential chief marketing officer in the world behind only Phil Schiller at Apple in a marketing study co-authored by Forbes. Hochman has been the CMO at KFC US for two years since departing Procter & Gamble. The 4th Annual CMO Influence Study said Hochman has “made waves.” 1992 Pamela Posner, see Jarrett Posner ’88
